There are three main aspects of royalty distribution for IconScout contributors.
IconScout will now offer a new royalty distribution method that is dependent on the number of total downloads for that particular month. The new method will be based on different levels, or tiers, or hierarchies. The tiers can be found in the below image.
Tier - Downloads | Royalty |
---|---|
Above 20,001 | 70% |
3,001 - 20,000 | 60% |
101 - 3,000 | 50% |
100 or less | 40% |
IconScout’s current business model is based on subscriptions, and contributors can earn up to 70% of the total earnings generated by all assets that users will download from contributors’ uploaded assets. In the contributor dashboard’s sales analytics page, assets will constantly be labeled as “Pro Downloads” whenever they are downloaded. Contributors will get their Pro Downloads earnings for the previous month by the tenth business day of the next month.
We use the below-given method to calculate the sales amount.
Bucket amount is the total revenue from all subscriptions in a particular month. For simplification, we calculate the daily revenue irrespective of whether the subscription is monthly or yearly.
If the user's subscription is active for 15 days in a particular month, we add that much to the total bucket for the payout.
We are selling different types of assets, and each asset has another type of weightage, which can be calculated based on their ideal pricing.
Below you will find the entire process for how we are going to calculate the revenue for all the downloaded assets. For example, if you get more than 20,000 downloads in a month, you’ll get a 70% royalty for your downloaded assets, and the revenue will be calculated as follows:
Based on the above parameter, we decide the per-item pricing for each asset. For this, we take the icon as a base.
